Interested in Becoming a Member?
How to Obtain Membership
If you are interested in becoming a member of Women of Distinction you must meet the following requirements.
The membership application for the Fall 2019 are currently closed and will open Fall 2020.
- First, have a cumulative GPA of a 2.0 or above. If you do not meet the GPA requirement, you can still maintain membership by going through a probationary period. This allows you a semester to improve your grades, so that you meet this requirement. An unofficial transcript will be requested prior to membership.
- Our annual dues are $25 for new members and $20 for returning members, which must also be paid prior to becoming an official member. Cash or money orders, which can be made out to "Women of Distinction annual dues" are both acceptable. Annual dues cover your t-shirt that will be given to you during the semester and will go towards WOD memorabilia, events, and other projects that members organize to sustain the organization.
- To ensure that all members are participating we have a minimum attendance requirement of:
- Must attend 3 meetings/workshops
- 2 bonding events, and
- 2 community service events
**These requirements are PER SEMESTER**
- Lastly, all our members are required to due a minimum of 15 hours worth of community service each semester. Also, as a reminder, WOD is not responsible for setting up service events to help you reach the 15 hours needed. We will try to do our best to arrange community service opportunities as they come, but we cannot guarantee each member will reach 15 hours solely from participating with our organization.
